Howdy,

my 335 has pretty bad "vintage zing" problem - retaining
spring that holds screws/saddles in place vibrates against
the top of the bridge at some resonant notes.

Seems like one option is to replace saddle with TonePros AVR-2
one that does not use retaining spring. Does anybody have any
opinion/experience with those bridges?

You have nothing to fear from Tone Pros products. All top notch stuff, that. If you're replacing the bridge, you might as well replace the tailpiece too.

Well my friend - luthier ended up putting Nashville bridge as a replacement.
A bit puzzling - I thought they had diff pole spacing. But it worked - no zing.
However guitar sounds slightly diff. More bass a slightly more treble.
And a bit less warm. Nothing you cannot compensate with tone controls
on the amp.
