In our on-going discussion of important jazz musician influences,
I think Art Tatum should receive some mention. He was an
important influence on Oscar Peterson certainly.

Agreed. Most of Tatum's influence on my work comes indirectly, due to his impact on Oscar, who has always been my main jazz influence. It's been easier and more inspiring for me to readily apply what I've learned from many years of transcribing and studying OP (and his bassists, for that matter).
