Corky, I've used the Omnibook to check my transcription. So far, it is fairly accurate. The production quality (printing, binding, four measures per system, CD reference) is disappointing. Also, there are no key signatures, so readability is poor. |
There's one called Charlie Parker for Guitar that I found very good. No where near the volume of the Omnibook but it has a great introduction that covers some key aspects of Parkers style and the tunes all have a short analysis of what's going on. The fingerings he uses didn't work for me but other than that it sounded very accurate and has a good discography.
And best of all, he doesn't try to analyze everything via scales and modes like most books. |
