Hey Mark, Posting has been trouble for me, because of my novice computer skills. Here I come anyway.
I'm using the GARAGEBAND program on my MAC OS X, going through a M-AUDIO FireWire 410. Any tips will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Lucky

Lucky,

All computer novices welcomed here! Smile How do you like the firewire interface for recording into GB? I've done a lot of recording with that program, but exclusively with USB interfaces. I started with an M-Audio FastTrack but couldn't get enough volume going straight in. I had much better luck with the simple Griffin iMic and later the LightSnake, which is all I've used over the past year and change.

Regardless of the interface, I love recording with Garage Band. So easy compared with ProTools, MOTU, or anything else I've used. All for now...

Hi Guys,
I just started using GB with an E-MU Tracker Pre usb on my Mac mini and MacBook Pro. Great little box, powered through the usb for portability. Although I've been using Macs since 1987 (dinosaur age), I am still a novice at recording. In addition to guitar, I also play keyboards and am learning to play bass guitar. My wife is a singer, so we can put a lot of different sounds onto a recording, and I think that's a strong point. GB is so easy to use. I love it. My tip is to use a big external drive (I use a 1TB LaCie) to keep your music files. Also save often, to free up resources and improve speed, reduce clipping. Dragging midi clips right onto GB breaks each track out of a midi for editing and building backup tracks.
