Does anyone know if you can create "scale type" grid diagrams in G7? I would like to put more than one dot on a given string in the diagram. Also, I was wondering if you can use different types of dots in the grids (a la Ted Greene) -- for example, hollow dots (circles), dashed circles, and solid dots. Thanks! |

Len,
I could be wrong but I don't think it's possible to put more than one dot on a given string in G7, Sibelius, Finale, etc. With Finale those chord grids are mapped to midi playback, and that may be the same case with the other programs, too. The moment I try to choose a second fret location on the string it deactivates the original location. Who knows, though. There may be some kind of workaround within the software outside of creating and importing graphic images to accomplish the goal. All for now...

Mark,
Thanks for the quick response.
Unfortunately, that's what I suspected.
I did, however, find a way to get a similar result. You can indicate a secondary fret by including "fingering text."
Hopefully, Sibelius will allow more than one note on a string in future upgrades.
