I recently picked up an ONYX Satellite Recording System; I can't say enough good things about it. Does anyone else use one?
First, it is reasonably priced -- about $170 online.
It's versatile. You can use it as a digital interface and/or a mixer. I plug it directly into my laptop and record into Logic or Audacity. Both work flawlessly.
You also can remove a module and use it for "field" recording. I haven't tried this feature yet, but I can see how it would be desirable.
I understand it has Mackie preamps that are highly rated.
And it is built -- the thing feels like a tank.
I'm not a gear nut, but I'm crazy about this piece of equipment. Try it if you haven't already. |

I noticed that little guy some time ago and was curious about it. Glad you like it. I've always been thrilled with everything from Mackie I've ever owned. _________________
