This "mini" lesson centers on a rubato ("free time") intro for John Trane's classic "Mister P.C." minor swing blues. The presentation mixes strong blues and jazz licks over four chords: Cm7, Fm9, Dm7b5 and G7#9, all highly relevant to the tune. This sets the stage for the head and several solo choruses, all of which are slated for transcription in the near future.

Great mini lesson, Mark! Love the sweet sound of that Fm9th followed by the Dm7(b5). The "Lesson Notes" in the PDF add so much to the notation. Those tips really helped a lot! Look forward to seeing a transcription of this solo. |

Thanks to both of you for your comments regarding the new lesson. I was attempting to be informative in as concise a manner as possible with the lesson notes on the chart, so it's good to hear that the tips were helpful. All for now...
